Colleen B. Haussmann, 87, Rochester, and formerly of Aurora, Ill., passed away at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Peabody Retirement Community Health Center, North Manchester.

She was born on April 13, 1929, in Aurora, Ill., the daughter of William and Ella (Bowers) Rockabrand.

On Nov. 27, 1948, in Aurora, Ill., she married Charles L. Haussmann. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2000.

Mrs. Haussmann had worked at Sunnymere Senior Community Living in Aurora, Ill., for many years, working as a nurse aid and as director of activities. She had been a member of the former First United Methodist Church and the Westminster Presbyterian Church, both of Aurora, Ill. She was a member of the Aurora Women's Club and founded the Parent Teacher Association at Hall Grade School in Aurora, Ill., serving as president for many years. Early in life, she was part of the newborn program in Aurora, Ill., where she was a foster parent to more than 40 children. In her spare time, she loved to sew, knit and paint.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia and husband Daniel Raymond, Aurora, Ill., Curtis and wife Christine Haussmann, Rochester, Charles A. Haussmann, Aurora, Ill., and Caryllyn Haussmann, Opa-Locka, Fla.; grandchildren Matthew and wife Cristina Haussmann, Rochester, Jonathan Haussmann, Rochester, Ashley and husband Toby Brown, Poplar Grove, Ill., Megan McMahon, Del City, Okla., Katie and husband Mike Lekki, Lapeer, Mich., and Charlie McMahon, Aurora, Ill.; great-grandchildren Abby, Chloe and Matty Haussmann, all of Rochester, Nolan and Evalee Haussmann, both of Rochester, Sawyer, Krayden, Maddox and Raleigh Brown, Poplar Grove, Ill., and Jacob Lekki, Lapeer, Mich.; and sister Jo Ann and husband Ray Kunkel, Boynton Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Evelyn McQuiggin.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, Ill.
