Hazel Jean Starrett, 96, Rochester, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1920, in Albion, the daughter of Francis and Alfreda (LeRoy) Middleton. On Nov. 19, 1939, in Lakeville, she married Herbert A. Starrett. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.

Mrs. Starrett was retired after working many years in manufacturing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed baking and sewing.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce E. Bieghler, Rochester; grandchildren Rex Growcock, Wolcottville, Roger and wife Wendy Growcock, Monroe, N.C., Jerry Starrett, Lafayette, Tenn., and Rhonda Joyner, White House, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren Hayley Growcock, Monroe, N.C., Noah Joyner, White House, Tenn., and Skye Growcock, Wolcottville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Robert H. Starrett; brothers Willis, Clinton, George, Harley, Raymond and Art Middleton; and sister Mildred Smith.
