Deserving local leaders received high praise Thursday from Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who visited Webb's Family Pharmacy in Rochester to ceremonially sign Senate Enrolled Act 80, SEA 161 and House Enrolled Act 1157, all aimed at combating methamphetamine use in Indiana.
It's nice to imagine the late, great pharmacist Parke Baxter - a good neighbor if there ever was one - looking down from on high at what Harry Webb hath wrought.
It is safe to say he would beam with pride. He would like the poise with which his successor Webb and cohorts struck a blow in the war against drug abuse. He would like their quiet persistence, their reliance on cold, hard facts and their willingness to do the right thing.
