This Week's Poll
The last Sentinel poll found that most respondents approve of allowing golf carts on county roads, which is under consideration by county authorities. What about the streets of Fulton County cities and towns? Should golf carts be allowed there? What say you?

Please select one:
Absolutely golf carts should be allowed on city and town streets. They would help lot of people get around. This isn’t exactly Los Angeles, you know.
I think it would be a good idea so long as carts were prohibited from driving on busy streets that are also state highways.
If it is OK with the police department, it is OK with me.
No way. There are too many cars in town for this to be safe. Plus half of the drivers seem to be texting behind the wheel, so it is only a matter of time until someone gets clobbered.

Big step in battle started locally
It's nice to imagine the late, great pharmacist Parke Baxter - a good neighbor if there ever was one - looking down from on high at what Harry Webb hath wrought.

It is safe to say he would beam with pride. He would like the poise with which his successor Webb and cohorts struck a blow in the war against drug abuse. He would like their quiet persistence, their reliance on cold, hard facts and their willingness to do the right thing.

Wabash blanks slumping RHS
BASEBALL

Rochester baseball coach Cory Good could tell that Wabash had a more experienced team than his just by watching them in pregame warm-ups Wednesday.

Then they proved it even further during the game.

Jordan Burnsworth homered and drove in five runs, and Jordan Holley pitched a five-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as the Apaches beat RHS 12-0 in five innings at Bob Copeland Field.

Abbott homers, but RHS loses to Logan
BASEBALL

A dinger's a dinger if the umpire says it's a dinger.

That's what Rochester center fielder Brett Abbott was credited with in the first inning against Logansport at Bob Copeland Field Tuesday. But if that was an optical illusion, what happened over the next five innings wasn't.

Trump's TV telephone interviews in spotlight
NEW YORK (AP) - In television news, a telephone interview is typically frowned upon. Donald Trump's fondness for them is changing habits and causing consternation in newsrooms, while challenging political traditions.

Two organizations are circulating petitions to encourage Sunday morning political shows to hang up on Trump. Some prominent holdouts, like Fox's Chris Wallace, refuse to do on-air phoners. Others argue that a phone interview is better than no interview at all.
