Blanche E. Norman
May 22, 1919 - Oct. 27, 2012

Blanche E. Myers Norman, 93, Miller's Merry Manor East, Wabash, formerly of the Akron and Macy areas, died at 1:32 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor East, Wabash.

She was born May 22, 1919 in Washington County to parents Oren and Alta E. Smith Howard.

While growing up, her family lived in the Greentown area.

On Oct. 24, 1937 she married Lawson E. Myers in Amboy. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1966. Later on June 10, 1972 she married W. Glen Norman in Miami County. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1996.

Blanche was a homemaker and had also worked at Controls Inc. in North Manchester.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and cooking with one of her specialties being butterscotch pie.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy and husband James Friend, Rochester; two sons, Steven and wife Peggy Myers, Macy, and Randy and wife Peggy Myers, Roann; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Mary Jo and husband Jim Frushour, Rochester; one stepson, Larry and wife Lorraine Norman, Akron; 16 stepgrandchildren, and 32 great-stepgrandchildren; six great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Lawson E. Myers and W. Glen Norman; and one son, David Myers in 1948.

Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron with Reverend George Hapner officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Clymer Cemetery, Waupecong, south of Peru on Strawtown Pike.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County.
