Betty Carr Leazenby passed peacefully on March 17, 2013, in Tucson, Ariz.

Born to Arvin and Hazel (Greer) Carr on November 28, 1926, in South Bend, Betty was the oldest of four children.

Betty and her husband resided in the Kewanna area during their early married years, raised their boys in Wyoming, Mich., where Betty worked at Purity Cylinder and at Derk's Marine, and retired in Newaygo, Mich. Betty returned to Kewanna in 2000, and in 2012 she moved to Tucson, Ariz.

Her brother Don Carr resides in Lady Lake, Fla., with his wife Mary Lou. Other surviving family includes three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward (Bud) and Donna Leazenby and Dennis and Laura Leazenby, all of Tucson, Ariz., and Gary and Pat Leazenby, of Carol Stream, Ill.; seven grandchildren including David (wife Erica) Leazenby and Amanda (husband Chad) Kaluza, of Carmel, Damon Leazenby, of Fishers, Brian Leazenby, of Elgin Ill., Jeff Leazenby, stationed in Portsmouth, N.H., Kevin (wife Diane) Baldus, of Aurora, Ill., and Carrie (husband Shayne) Lorenz, of Cadillac, Mich.; as well as eight great-grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews, and many great-great-nieces and nephews.

Her husband Edward (Eddie); her parents; and her sisters, Barbara and Bea Ann, preceded her in death.

A celebration of her life is planned for late spring or summer in her hometown of Kewanna.
