Edna Miller

Edna Joy Miller, 104, Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, formerly of Mentone, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at her residence.

Edna was born Nov. 16, 1908, in Marshall County, to parents Orville E. and Nancy H. (Stackhouse) Martin.

She married Joseph A. Miller on Feb. 17, 1928, in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1989.

She was a homemaker. Edna was a member of the Burket United Methodist Church. Joy was active in the Scrambled Egg Band and the Mentone Nutrition Site. She loved gardening and cooking. She always enjoyed her family and was noted for her talent of crocheting and making doilies.

Edna is survived by two daughters-in-law, Sharon Miller, Akron, and Lois Miller, Mentone; four grandchildren, Darrel and wife Pam Miller, Mentone, LuAnn Greene, North Manchester, Doug and wife Lori Miller, Mentone, and Deb and husband Jim Glaze, Pierceton; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and James Miller; one brother, Onel Martin; and one sister, Frances Koch.

Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Gary Loy officiating.

Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burket United Methodist Church or the Mentone Fire Department.
