Dr. Robert E. Hibner, Grass Valley, Calif., passed away after a battle with cancer.
He practiced as a veterinarian in the Livermore, Calif., area for several years. He was a 1961 graduate of Richland Center High School, and received his doctorate degree from the University of Davis, Sacramento, Calif.
His survivors include his wife, Chris; son, Scott (Lynda), Austin, Texas; brothers, LaVerne (Eileen), Plymouth, Dr. Dan, Rochester, and Don (Etta), Kewanna; sisters, Carol (Larry) Smith, Rochester, and Cheryl Bright, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Roy and Georgia Hibner; brother, Richard J.; and brother-in-law, Steve Bright.
Dr. Bob served in the U.S. Navy and after basic training at Great Lakes, he became a naval corpsman at Oakland Naval Hospital. When his naval service was over, he attended and received his doctorate degree from the University of Davis, Sacramento, in 1975. He had a clinic in Livermore, Calif., for many years. He was well known for his interests in horses and cattle, and was well respected for his large animal practice.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 20, at the Burton/Richland Center Methodist Church, Richland Center.
