Zola Jean Smith

Zola Jean Smith, 92, Wheatfield, formerly of Butler and Fulton County, passed away at 7:22 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Franciscan Hospice Community, Crown Point.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1920, in Prestonsburg, Ky., the daughter of Irvin and Alva (Wright) Bradley. On Dec. 31, 1950 in Rochester, she married Joe Smith. He preceded her in death in April of 1987.
Mrs. Smith early in life had been a beautician as well as a homemaker. She had been a member of the Spencerville United Methodist Church and been a Cub Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed playing euchre, the guitar, singing, staying active with crafts, camping with her husband and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include her son, Jerry L. and wife Catherine Smith, Wheatfield; grandchildren, Melissa and husband Mark Chinworth, Kirkwood, Mo., Megan Smith, South Korea; step-grandchildren, James and wife Kathleen Sanders, Wheatfield, John Sanders, Wheatfield; and step-great grandchildren, Peyton and Caden Sanders, Wheatfield. She was preceded by her son, Michael Smith, five brothers and three sisters.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:15 a.m. Thursday Aug. 22, 2013 at Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.
