Arden J. "Art" Harrold
Oct. 8, 1933 - Sept. 7, 2013

Arden J. "Art" Harrold, 79, of Kewanna and formerly of Akron and Warsaw, died at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Hickory Creek, of Rochester.

He was born to Gail E. and Mildred (Kindig) Harrold on Oct. 8, 1933 in Mentone.

He was a welder, worked on towers, and was involved with radio and television. He was a Mentone High School graduate. Arden served his country, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion of Rochester. He loved to tell jokes and enjoyed fishing, hunting and CB radios.

Survivors include a son, Gary E. and wife Jane A. Harrold, Kewanna; daughters, Marry and husband Michael Mills, Talma, and Sherri and husband Marty Brock, Culver; grandchildren, Matthew Harrold, Brittney Thompson, Haley Markley, Elijah Harper, Ashlee Harper and Jori Harrold; and three great-grandchildren.

Arden is preceded in death by his parents, sons Terry Lee and Larry Jay Harrold, and a brother, Merl Harrold.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. By Arden's request, casual attire is preferred.

Burial is in Akron Cemetery, Akron, with military graveside rites performed by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Hartzler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, make donations to The Wounded Warrior Project.
