Steven Nard

Steven S. Nard, 73, Rochester, passed away at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on July 6, 1943, in Indianapolis, the son of Vernon Thomas Sr. and Mary Jane (Bates) Nard.

He graduated from Broad Ripple High School and served with the United States Air Force, stationed in Greenland during the Vietnam War. On Aug. 7, 1998, he married Patricia Kumpfer.

Mr. Nard had been a service representative for the Xerox Corporation. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Lake Manitou Ski Club and the Tiger Club. He enjoyed skiing, parasailing and spending time with his family and friends at his residence known as Nard's Pointe on Lake Manitou.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Nard, Rochester; sons Matt Nard, Rochester, Andrew Alan Nard, Rochester, Steven Scott Nard Jr., Plentywood, Mont., and Robert L. Kumpfer, Chesterton; and grandchildren Hunter Nard, Rochester, Megan Nard, Rochester, Erick Nard, Texas, Brittany Kate Kumpfer, Chicago, Ill., and Robert Padriac Kumpfer, Chesterton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother V. Thomas Nard Jr.; and sister Jerry Dunbar.

No service is scheduled at this time.
