Doyle R. Flory

Doyle R. Flory, 68, a resident of Tippecanoe, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2017, at 8:35 a.m. at his home.
Doyle was born the son of Arnold and Clarabel (Carey) Flory at Bremen on Oct. 8, 1948. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Doyle had worked for Wicks Lumber, helping to build pole barns, and for Kermida Environmental, doing air monitoring and maintenance of closed landfills, monitoring air quality.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the National Trappers Association, along with many state trapper associations. Doyle's enjoyments were fishing, trapping, mushroom hunting and anything having to do with environmental conservation efforts for the Department of Natural Resources. Another passion was Camp Mollenhour where he helped with summer camps, teaching trapping seminars and about nature. He also attended Tippecanoe High School and then Triton High School, graduating with the Class of 1966. Doyle also served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970.
Janie (Williams) became the bride of Doyle on April 20, 1968. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Jamie (Ann) Flory, Lakeville, Erin Flory, Plymouth, and Angi Flory, Argos. Doyle was also blessed with four grandchildren, Conner, Dominic, Cooper and Logan; sisters Audrey Griffis, Burket, Rose (Herschel) Walters, Bourbon, and Lorraine (Tom) Devros, Tippecanoe; and brothers Jerry (Glenda) Flory, Tippecanoe, Duane (Kathy) Flory, Tippecanoe, and Lewis (Peg) Flory, Rochester.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Anita Crawford; and a brother, Doug Flory.
The family will welcome friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Richland Center Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be given to Argos Emergency Medical Services or Camp Mollenhour, 10265 S. 600 W., Silver Lake, IN 46982.
