Lana Winegardner Blanchard-Pitcock, 68, Rochester, went to be with her Lord on May 4, 2017, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

Lana was born on Oct. 13, 1948, in Rochester, to Wilbur "Boots" and Clara Mae (Clemans) Winegardner. She was a graduate of North Miami High School. She worked at Farm and Home, later Smith Saddlery, in Rochester for 20 years. Then, she moved to Oklahoma and worked at Oklahoma Christian University for 10 years as the assistant director for the campus apartments. In 2009, she suffered a stroke that ended her working career. Lana's passion was horses, and she was very involved with the Fulton County 4-H Horse and Pony Club for many years. She dedicated endless hours to help make the Fulton County 4-H Equestrian Center what it is today. She owned a champion barrel horse named Rebel's Peanut and helped train a world champion flag horse by the name of Bold Sun Flash. Lana liked reading fictional horror novels and watching scary thriller movies. She enjoyed mushroom hunting and loved spending time with family. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and their interests, including horse shows, baseball games, cheerleading and belly dancing to singing, car racing and mechanics. She took pride in seeing them grow and achieve success with their accomplishments.

Lana is survived by her son, Scott Blanchard, Paige, Texas; daughter Lauri Mack (Chad), Albany; daughter-in-law Ange Blanchard, Kewanna; grandchildren Gage Hunt, Indianapolis, Hayley Blanchard-Fernandez (Javier), Bryan, Texas, Cameron Blanchard, Kewanna, Keylee Greene (Devon), Albany, Peyton Blanchard, Jonestown, Texas, Austin Duncan, Albany, Tristin Duncan, Albany, and Kambree Duncan, Albany; sisters Janie Petersen-Smart (Sid), Claremore, Okla., and Judy Davis, Rochester; brother Jack Winegardner, Macy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Chris Blanchard; and a granddaughter, Megan Blanchard.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Fulton County Equestrian Center, 1157 W. Third St., Rochester, on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Fulton Co. Horse & Pony Club, 5571 S. State Road 25, Rochester, IN 46975.
