Sharon L. Bope, 72, Plymouth, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017, in the Elkhart Hospice House.

She was born on June 30, 1944, in Plymouth, to the late Samuel and Alma (Pike) Hite. Their marriage blended his children and her children. In addition, they were blessed with three children of their own, Doris McFarland, Charles Hite and Sharon.

Sharon married Raymond R. Bope on July 18, 1987, in the Church of Jesus Christ, Argos. They had grown up in the same neighborhood in Plymouth, then Sharon married and moved to Rochester. In the mid-'80s, Sharon returned to Plymouth, and they met again through Ray's sister, Suzanne. They enjoyed a happy, fulfilling life for nearly 30 years.

She studied accounting at Ivy Tech in Logansport after obtaining her GED in 1977. She enjoyed working as a title clerk at a local auto dealership and helping her customers. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery with her sewing circle, genealogy and bowling and golfing with Raymond and their friends.

Surviving is her husband, Raymond R. Bope, Plymouth; two daughters, Kim (David) Duff, Argos, and April (Rodney) Gross, Rochester; stepdaughters Raymi Bope, Oklahoma, Debbie (Michael) Watts, South Bend, Faith (Tony) Gamble, Plymouth, and Kristi (Christopher) Mabis, Columbus; and stepsons Danny Bope, Plymouth, David (Brandi) Thompson, Phoenix, Ariz., and Coy (Brooke) Bope, Winter Haven, Fla. Also surviving are many grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and half sister, Marie Masterson, Plymouth.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; 13 siblings; former husband William Sweet Jr.; and stepson Ward Bope.

Friends are welcome to celebrate Sharon's life from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Utley officiating. Burial will follow at the New Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care, 112 S. Center St., Suite C, Plymouth, IN 46563. Condolences may be sent to the family through the website
