Pamela Dickinson

Pamela L. Dickinson, 70, Akron, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She was born on Sept. 3, 1946, to Albert E. "Ted" Hawk Jr. and LaVerta Sundheimer in Miami, Fla.

She was a graduate of Manchester High School, a member of the Moose Lodge in Peru and a member of the Order of the Amaranth in Peru. She had done secretarial work most of her life, working for Schneider International Trucking and most recently Akron Concrete Products until her retirement. She had also owned and operated Ye Ole Bath Shoppe Pet Grooming in Peru for several years.

Pam will be remembered as a spirited, tender-hearted woman who loved her family. She enjoyed reading and caring for her plants, but she had a special fondness and passion for animals. She rescued, adopted and cared for several dogs and cats over the course of her life.

Left to cherish the memory of Pat are two sons, Marvin (Stephene) Redman, Bunker Hill, and Joe (Jena) Redman, Logansport; seven grandchildren, Gipsy, Kalika, Kristin, Stephen, Seanna, Sylas and Skye; two great-grandchildren, Karoline and Lyla; two sisters, Lina Harding, Las Vegas, Nev., and LaVerta "Shelly" (Pat) Walgamuth, Akron; two brothers, Fred (Michele) Caudill, Peru, and Alan (Lesly) Sundheimer, Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Lacy, and cat Weesaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Hawk.

Her funeral service will be at the Akron Cemetery on Saturday, June 3, at 3 p.m. Family and friends may call at the graveside one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Ed Rhodes will officiate.

For those who wish to honor the memory of Pam, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center, 1540 N. Wentzel St., Rochester, IN 46975.
