Corey was born to Barbara (Bradley) and Richard Gerald on Feb. 11, 1970. They divorced and she later married Brad Tam, who became his stepfather.
Corey graduated from Rochester. A proud Zebra, he participated in football, swimming, track and was also a member of the FFA and the Spanish Club.
After graduating, he attended Ball State where he majored in business and met the love of his life, Laura.
They married two months after graduation. Corey took a job at Household Finance in Anderson. He was later transferred to Evansville and back to Anderson, where he became vice president of the company.
The company moved operations back to Europe during the recession. He then became employed for Farmers Insurance.
He was a member of Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, Ohio, where he was a referee for youth basketball. He loved being with family and friends. Corey loved hiking, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; two daughters, Kyndall, 18, and Claire, 8; one son, Skyler, 15; his mother, Barbara; stepfather, Brad; one brother, Brian; nephews, Justin, Brant, Devan and Tristen; two nieces, Deadra and Anacka; in-laws, Bill and Lillian; and one sister-in-law, Tammy and husband Jason.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Laura Gerald; his father, Richard; and many friends.
