Don Dielman

Donald "Don" Dielman, 82, Rochester, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on May 19, 1931, in Miami County, the son of Earl and Mabel (Lewis) Dielman.

On June 2, 1954, Don married Anna J. Norman at the Macy Christian Church, Macy.

He was a farmer and enjoyed working various jobs over the years. He had worked in transportation at Life Care Center, and transported RV trailers for Classic Trailers for many years. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War.

Don was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying. He had worked at the Fulton County Airport. His loves also included his John Deere, mowing his yard and working as a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Dielman, Rochester; his two children, Teresa Thomas and fiance Dennis Young, Fishers, and Jon and wife Carmen Dielman, Gilead; six grandchildren, Kinsey and husband Ryan Collins, Greenfield, Michaela Thomas and fiance Andrew Bourgerie, Noblesville, Brook and wife Sara Sarver, Roann, Levi and wife Michelle Dielman, Gilead, Candace Dielman, Fishers, and Bryce Dielman, Gilead; and three great-grandchildren, Madison Dielman and Liam Dielman, both of Gilead, and Hailey Sarver, Roann.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Eldon Dielman; and one brother, Robert Dielman.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Wayne Balmer and Pastor Brook Sarver officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Very sad to hear of Don's passing. There was never a nicer person. He helped my husband and I remodel our home just a couple of years ago out of the goodness of his heart. He has been a good friend to my family and the Smith Farm Stores crew. Our condolences to Anne and the family.
