Prom crash reenactment Wednesday
First responders are coming together to give Rochester High School students a sobering reminder about the consequences of drunk driving.

With Rochester High School's prom coming up next weekend, Fire Chief Tom Butler told the Rochester Board of Public Works and Safety on Thursday his department will be one of multiple agencies participating in a prom crash reenactment at the high school.

Opera house quotes opened
Fulton County Commissioners received a bit of a shock Tuesday in regard to quotes for the demolition of the Akron Opera House.

The lowest quote came from Chuck Shane Excavating, Akron, for $145,000. It was the only one in the expected price range.

The county also received quotes from Beer & Slabaugh, Nappanee, and Martin Enterprises, Fort Wayne. Those quotes were $270,000 and $490,000, respectively.

TVHS student: We got time to reflect
Charles Smith, his son Scott Smith, Scott Bibler and Tony Elliott were killed Friday in an airplane crash at Oconee County, S.C., on their way to the Notre Dame-Clemson football game. Zac Capps is a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School and Sentinel intern. He offers here a personal perspective of the mood and response at TVHS on Monday.
