NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES
FOR STREET REPAIRS
FOR THE CITY OF
FOR THE YEAR 2017
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Rochester, Indiana, will receive bids in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer located in the City Building Complex, 320 Main Street, up to the hour of 3:30 p.m., May 10, 2017 for the following items:
Item No. 1. Bituminous coated fine aggregate patching materials, 300 tons, more or less. Quote separate prices for streets and alleys.
Item No. 2. Materials for street and alley improvements and resurfacing. Approximately 2,000 tons, more or less. Hot Mix Asphalt furnished and applied. HMA Base (HMA Base 25.0mm, Type A); No. 8 Binder (HMA Interm, 19.0mm, Type A); No. 11 Surface (HMA Surface 9.5mm, Type A); Liquid Asphalt AET for Tack Coat. Quote separate prices for streets and alleys.
Item No. 3. Machine rental prices for grader and milling machine. Price to include operator and fuel charge.
NOTE: All materials and construction to conform to the latest edition of the Indiana Department of Highways Standard specifications. All asphalt plants must be state certified.
Said bids are to be opened and read at 5:00 p.m. on May 11, 2017, in the Council Chambers at the City Building Complex at 320 Main Street. Any bid received after the designated time will be returned unopened. Bids will be received and contract let for each item. All bids must cover quoted prices, (taxes included) on items that require tax charges. All purchases will be made as needed. Contracts will be awarded by the Board of Public Works and Safety either May 11, 2017 or at such time within 14 days thereafter as may be stipulated by the Board.
Bids shall be in duplicate as required by law, accompanied by a Bid Bond or certified check in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of bid price. Bid must state if firm bid or subject to escalator clause. (Any increase in the bidders cost of materials and supplies after the base dates shall be determined monthly, and shall be verified by proper documents furnished to the responsible awarding board which shall include proof of price from the bidders source of supply.) Bids must also include a signed and notarized affidavit certifying compliance with Indiana Code 22-5-1.7-11 regarding the E-verify program and compliance with Indiana Code 5-22-16.5-13 regarding doing business with Iran.
The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality in the bid.
