David Martin Randall, 68, Silver Lake, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family that he loved on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at 3:20 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1949, in Michigan to Robert Edwin and Sherilyn (Rusmisel) Randall. He graduated from Akron High School in 1968.
David worked at the Dalton Foundry, Warsaw, after high school for one year and then served in the United States Army from Sept. 8, 1969, to March 19, 1971, during the Vietnam War and worked as a radio mechanic. He then returned to work at the Dalton Foundry in the core room where he was employed for 44 years and retired in 2015.
David married Sharon Kay Smith on Dec. 26, 1987, in Silver Lake. He had lived in Silver Lake since 1981, moving there from Akron.
He was a former member of the Leroy C. Shelton American Legion Post 36 in Rochester and attended the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God in Silver Lake.
He cherished his children and grandchildren and loved the church. He loved the outdoors and woodworking. David will be greatly missed by all.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon Randall, Silver Lake; one daughter, Karen Lynn (spouse Matthew) Myers, Macy; two sons, Gary Lee (spouse Tonya) Randall, Rochester, and Terry Ray Randall, Rochester; one brother, Robert (spouse Janice) Randall, Silver Lake; two sisters, Gayle McCullough, North Manchester, and Wendy Crist, Silver Lake; one stepbrother, Robert (spouse Sue) Bershing, Michigan; two stepsisters, Janice Bershing, Ohio, and Sharon (spouse Dick) Harris, Michigan; his stepfather, Bob Bershing; his stepmother, Carla Randall; and five grandchildren, Kody and Mason Myers, Gabriel and Noah Randall and Rosalie Randall.
David was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Debra Randall.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, from 4-8 p.m. His funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, 303 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, with the Rev. Frank Whitaker, Jason Smith and Matthew Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, with the United States Army and the American Legion conducting military honors.
