Sept. 17, 1934 – July 8, 2019

Frederick “Fred” Thompson, 84, Rochester, passed away at 4:16 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.

He was born on Sept. 17, 1934, in Cecil, Ohio, to David and Marie (Anspaugh) Thompson.

In 1958, he married Joann Allendorph. She preceded him in death in 2001. Fred then married Roberta Kabat Brewer on Jan. 29, 2008. She survives.

He worked for International Harvester of Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, retiring in 1996 after 30 years.

Fred was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of both Rochester and Huntington. He also was a 1953 graduate of Butler High School.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Thompson, Rochester; his daughters, Tamara Thompson, Huntington, Lucinda and husband Roger Weeks, Huntington, and Kathleen and husband Keith March, Continental, Ohio; his sons, John David and wife Lillian Thompson, Huntington, Daniel Thompson, Huntington, and Timothy and wife Julie Thompson, Huntington; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his stepson, Richard Eubank, Logansport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Marie; his wife, Joann; his brothers, Larry and Robert; and his sister, Joan Pugh.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1640 Grant St., Huntington, IN 46750, with Elder Timothy Detwiler officiating.
