    Sisters Cailyn, Caily and Carly Bolser and teammate Adi Hartley have all transferred from North Miami, The Sentinel learned Thursday.
    The Bolser sisters will transfer to Mississinewa. Hartley will matriculate at Kokomo.
    Cailyn Bolser, who is 6-2 and will be a senior, has already verbally committed to Ball State for volleyball and can sign a letter of intent in November.
    Caily Bolser, who is 6-3 and will be a junior, has received multiple Division I basketball offers.
    Carly Bolser will be a freshman this fall.
    Hartley was a middle hitter in volleyball and a wing in basketball.

    AKRON — The Rochester 10-and-under baseball All-Stars defeated NorthWood 13-2 in four innings at AYL Field Monday to capture the Town and Country semistate title.
    The win completed a 4-0 run through the semistate. Rochester earlier beat Pioneer 10-5, Bremen 13-0 and North Miami 5-1 to reach the finals of the double-elimination tournament.

    Eagles No. 852 tourney results (Saturday): The team of Kavan Hoff, Ken Hoff, Rob Sawyer and Mason Heyde won the Eagles No. 852 Golf Scholarship Tournament at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek Saturday. The foursome shot a 51 and won by six strokes over the team of Austin Shepherd, Mike Bennett, Korbin Bennett and Bob Schoen.
    Tom Miller, Tom Sawyer, Ryan Miller and Andrew Miller shot a 58 and finished third.

    In the final part of our recognition of the top spring sports student-athletes in the area, we now present the All-Sentinel track teams.

    We had five area athletes make state this spring. Rochester’s Kelsey Tyler and North Miami’s Faith White made the girls state meet, and Rochester’s Thomas Rohr and Tippecanoe Valley’s Dakota Parker and Jameson Baker made the boys meet.

    Jaymi Hartzler is still always on the run.
    The 2000 Rochester grad made the state finals three straight years in track in the 1,600 meters. She was also a star in the 800 meters. And in cross-country, she qualified for semistate four straight years.
    Move ahead almost 20 years, and Hartzler, who is a first grade instructional assistant at Columbia Elementary School, is running around keeping track of her three children, all of whom play multiple sports. And she is also is pursuing her teaching license.

    Our series recognizing the top spring sports athletes in the area continues with the top girls tennis players and boys golfers.
    In girls tennis, Rochester finished fast after a slow start. Their 8-7 record included a season-ending loss to Culver Academy in the sectional final. Tippecanoe Valley fell to Warsaw, who went on to win their 18th consecutive sectional title.
    In boys golf, Winamac won the Hoosier North boys golf title and finished second at the Logansport sectional to advance to regional. A young Rochester squad that featured two freshmen and a sophomore among its top three players finished third at the Logansport sectional and also advanced to regional.

    No Sentinel area baseball team produced a winning record or won a sectional this spring.
    In fact, no Sentinel area baseball team has won a sectional since Rochester won a Class 3A sectional in 2014.
    Still, there were moments of fleeting glory. North Miami defeated Northfield during the regular season before watching that Northfield team advance to the Class 1A semistate.

    No Sentinel area softball teams won a sectional title this spring, the first time that’s happened since 2010.
    That doesn’t mean the area lacked talent. Rather, some area teams ran into tough competition in the postseason.

    Cole McKinney finished highest among three area boys in the 15-year-old age group who competed in the Age Group Championships at the Ackerman-Allen and Kampen courses on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette Wednesday and Thursday.

    Winamac senior Calvin Larkin has received an invitation to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/IHSAA Underclass Showcase at Ben David High School in Indianapolis Monday.

    Larkin is one of 118 players statewide who received an invitation.

    New Tippecanoe Valley athletic director Gina Hierlmeier said it is a goal to have separate girls and boys soccer teams at the school.
    Currently Valley has a coed team that competes in the Class 2A boys state tournament. Valley is in the same sectional with Fort Wayne Concordia, last year’s state runner-up.
